What is Your Goal?

Setting your goal is the one single entity that is essential in succeeding in losing your excess weight. Without it, you can’t make it happen. How do you want to live out the rest of your life? How do you want to live out this next year? And probably the most important question is: how do you want to live out the rest of today? Have you ever written a goal on a post-um note and stuck it on your mirror? A person’s goal is everything. The higher the goal, the more the success in what you are attempting. It is the difference in achieving the Prescription For Life plan, or failing to take proper care of your most prized possession — your health. Setting your goal is the one single entity that is essential in succeeding in losing your excess weight. Without it, you can’t make it happen. You can memorize all the secrets known concerning losing weight, but it won’t happen — unless you apply the goal setting entity. The setting of a goal requires both decision and commitment. A decision alone won’t get you there. Without the self-commitment, it will be a battle for naught. The other side of the coin is just as simple; if you set your goal weight and commit to it, you will reach that ideal weight. Researchers at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago interviewed more than 1200 elder adults and found something interesting concerning setting goals in your life. They aren’t certain why, but found that the individuals who had goals were about half as likely to die over a five year follow up, as those who didn’t have definite plans for their future. Set the goal to not just read Prescription For Life, but to study it and learn how to have a better quality of life today – and next year- and the rest of your life.
